Motorcycle transport trip 186
Bit of a disastrous trip this one. All went well on the up side from Cape Town to JHB, stopped off in Klerksdorp to deliver a GS 1200 to Suzuki Klerksdorp at around 23.00 hrs whilst the guys were celebrating a stag night. I was very tempted to stay, but had another 6 bikes to deliver in JHB the following day. Ho hum!

On the way back down from JHB, I had a HD Softail Slim in Potch to collect to come down to Cape Town and between Potchefstroom and Bothaville Sunday night was involved in a traffic accident. Nothing too major. Just ran into the back of the car in front who panic stopped because of a pothole. Upshot was a burst radiator so could go no further. I was towed into Orkney by Duppies Towing and the trailer with the bikes was stored over the next two days at their premises at no charge. The following day the Nissan was towed into Klerksdorp for repairs and after a whole day of insurance backwards and forwarding it was finally decided that the truck should be towed back to Cape Town, to Dals for repair. We left Klerksdorp at around 17.00 hrs on Tuesday afternoon. Impala Panelbeaters and Towing in Klerksdorp brought me down with the truck and the trailer with all the bikes. All in all the job was done even with a two day delay for the clients at this end to receive their bikes. Many thanks to those that came to collect their bikes from the depot which helped out a lot.
We will complete the service. Even if we are a few days late!
